Population change in Electoral Divisions

Discover which Commonwealth electorates had the highest population growth rate between 2001 and 2006 in this new release from the Parliamentary Library.
Includes Electoral Divisions ranked by growth in population aged 0 to 14 years, or growth in population aged 65 years and older. Based on Estimated Resident Population (ERP) data from the ABS and current electoral boundaries.

The Australian population grew by an average 6.6 per cent over the 2001 to 2006 period. At the electorate level, Fadden in Queensland (31.8 per cent) was the fastest growing electorate, followed by Sydney (25.3 per cent) and Lalor in Victoria (24.9 per cent).
